I feel like our weeks just keep getting busier and busier and this year has gone by so FAST! We had some precious moments with our little man this week...he is growing so fast and doing so many more things each day it's hard to believe! He has really started to mimic every thing we do and say! He is acing words like mommy, daddy, baby, banana, cheese (for pictures), bye bye and babbles on and on and on! Janet (his babysitter) tells me that he tries to say the names of some of the kiddos "ophia" for Sophia and "itchie" for Richie! Yes, he wears shoes when he leaves the house now, and as a matter of fact, started walking himself big boy style down the stairs yesterday when we told him it was time to go! It completely FREAKED me out when I walked over and there he was just walking down all by his lonesome! He has truly become more our little man than our little boy...people don't believe us when we tell them that he's only 19 months!! We're excited to celebrate Halloween and Adam's birthday next weekend and I know I will have some GREAT pics for you! For now, enjoy our little man!
need I say more?!?
The pumpkin patch...
This was the ONLY picture that we have of Caleb looking at the camera while we were getting pumpkins! He was having so much fun we actually ended up with a little fit when we had to leave!
Caleb chose this pumpkin for himself...he has been trying to eat it and its stem since he chose it!
And finally...I went and got Caleb some new church clothes (I figured that we could put him into some pants finally instead of him always wearing shorts!) I just had to throw a few pics in of our little boy looking more like a little man! Since he has the attention span of like 1/2 a second, we had to keep saying cheese to get him to stop and take a picture...this is him saying cheese at the same time!
TOTAL STUD!
This is the Abercrombie and Fitch pose...he could be a model!!!
Ad and Caleb being color twins!

A Little Home Improvement...
All the way back in March or April I was strolling through Target and found the CUTEST bedroom bedspread, sheets, accessories etc. for Caleb's room. It was a safari theme, which I never thought I would really like a safari theme for Caleb, but this one was too cute! Ad's parents came down the next month and we happened to stop at Target and I showed them how cute the set was and they helped us out with it so Caleb could have a new room. Anyway, I wanted to paint and do some fun things with the set and didn't quite know what to do, so I had my mom come down and help me out. I decided that I wanted his walls painted three different colors so that's exactly what we did! To add to the set, I also asked my mom to make a valance for his window and bedskirts. It all came together so AWESOME! This is the end result of everyone's help! I also wanted to redo his bathroom and found the monkey shower curtain at Target too. We had some paint left over and decided to paint his bathroom because it matched the colors! Now I know we live in an apartment, but we're not planning on moving anytime soon and we wanted our son to have his own room instead of a girly one!! He couldn't keep his hands off of the orange wall when it was first painted and this helped so we could move his toys in his room and he would have his own play space. We did some fun things with our living room as well, but I'll save that for another post. We are grateful to our parents for helping us out!!!! I know Caleb LOVES his new room!
This pic was from about a week ago...Caleb had pulled the wooden spoon from the drawer and was stirring everything in sight. This is him stirring the cat food...i washed the spoon when he was done!
Just a quick note...the room is so much cuter in person! The pictures don't do it justice!
A view looking in...
The new bedspread with window treatments!
The orange wall...the playmat is supposed to be on the floor, but I thought that it would look cute on the wall!
The blue wall with crib and decals...Caleb has already scratched off the green elephant! Now when I put him to bed, I have to pull his crib out a little bit otherwise, we'll hear the little sound of fingernails on the wall!
The green wall...we found the real animal pictures and frames from IKEA (I LOVE IKEA, but that's a whole other story)...
The blue and green wall together...again, the orange hanging net in the corner (IKEA) has Caleb's collection of obscure stuffed animals that he hasn't really played with yet!
Here is Caleb's new bathroom...my little monkey included!
Another blue wall with his decorative monkey towels
His bathroom isn't that big so we didn't want to get a lot of extra things to make it look smaller...this is a view from corner...you can see the green wall through the mirror!
Caleb enjoying his new room...with his favorite outfit on! You might notice that his hair is a little shorter than the very top picture! He again had his third haircut in like 5 months! It grows FAST!!!

Our Fun Boy...
Adam is going to be heading off to Idaho on Tuesday so I thought I'd get a post on before he goes! He will probably be taking our camera so if you don't see a new post in a while, that is why! We had another busy week! On Friday we had our school carnival which was a lot of fun! A lot of my students from my past second grade classes came to see me which makes me feel old because they are growing up SOOO fast! They were excited to see Caleb who got to come for a few minutes! Everyone at school loves to see our babies and they flipped when they saw how big he has gotten! They kept asking me How old is he? I was like ummmm....19 months! He is big for his age! Anyway, to the pictures!
We were having one of those quiet moments yesterday where Caleb wasn't making any noise so i went to check on him. I found him in his room sitting on his chair "reading" his Elmo book! I went to get the camera to take pictures and this is the result. The squinty face! He loves to get up into his rocking chair and show us how he can ROCK! I've probably mentioned this before so forgive me for repeating myself!!
Continuing to LOVE Elmo...and his squinty face!
Please don't pay attention to him and his outfit!! It's true...i kept him with one sock on and one sock off for most of the day! We got a hold of the brush the night before and he loved getting his hair brushed. He just sat there and let me brush and brush. The result is an even bigger mop of hair!
UGH! Put the camera away mom...please!
This again was from another quiet moment yesterday...we found him back on his bed jumping!
Later yesterday night:
I was giving Caleb his bath and he had some soap on his upper lip like a mustache...i wanted to see if I could get a pic and we ended up practicing how to say cheese for the camera. These pics turned out fun!
CHEESE!
CHEESE!
CHEESE!!
Just to give you an idea of how long Caleb's hair is, if it was wet like this all of the time, it would be a mullet!! He'll get it cut again soon!

Mom's Milestones
I know that these should be Caleb's milestones, but I think they're more mine this time because I have had the hardest time with both of these things...
First off, I just wanted to show you what happens when I'm away. I had to go to a meeting for church last night and Caleb got to spend some quality time with his dad. What I came home to was not very pretty! There were toys scattered EVERYWHERE!!! I swear Caleb found every toy he owned and threw it on the floor somewhere...i'm also sure that Adam had a big hand in this one too!!! I'm glad they had fun! We're going to start calling our home Caleb Fun Zone!
For those of you who don't know Caleb has 1 pair of shoes that unfortunately he has started to grow out of! I have been everywhere trying to find Caleb some shoes that will fit him. This kid has the weirdest feet. Lengthwise they are fine, but they are extra thick width wise, so I have a hard time squeezing his foot into any type of shoe!
I finally found a pair that fit at Target after trying on all the shoes they had there...
They do look a little silly with his church outfit, but we are working on the church shoes now!
HOORAY...we have FINALLY weaned Caleb off of the bottle!!! I am the one that has been keeping him on the bottle because it is has been so convenient, but we quit cold turkey after the nurse at his last wellness appt. told Ad that we needed to do it! So, we started giving him the sippy cup and of course he wasn't happy at first, but of course he finally got used to it and I am proud to say that he hasn't given the bottle a second thought! Well, maybe he has (we've had a few Texas sized tantrums that we've had to give a few time outs with) but we're making it through!!! YEA!!!!

Who says exciting things don't happen...
I guess these are the signs of the times of my son getting older and MORE stubborn. We tried to go to get our pictures taken yesterday...had the appointment set for 11:40 in the morning and finally got in at 12:40. As soon as we tried to get started Caleb had yet another meltdown. We were all a little upset that we had to wait for so long because Caleb would've been fine if
we had gotten right in at our scheduled time. We tried to take some pics, but it just didn't happen! When we got home, I thought I would take a few extra pics of my boy. I followed him around and this is what I got!
By the way, Caleb had his 18 month wellness appointment this week. Here are the stats:
29 lbs 5 oz
35 inches tall
He is doing a little more talking and can say mama, daddy and baby. That's about it for the moment. He is starting to throw a lot more tantrums so we are having to start little time outs with him. Like I said, this kid is pretty stubborn and if he doesn 't want to do it, he WON'T!! That's only every now and then though, because he is such a cute little boy with such a fun personality. He loves Elmo, giving us hugs and blowing kisses! We LOVE our boy.
I also had another great experience to add to his scrapbook with me locking him in the car with the keys after I had gone to dinner with my girls from school...i didn't bring my camera, but one of the other gals did and took some pics. She is forwarding them to me and I'll post them as soon as I can! It's really a great story and I know you're looking forward to hearing all about it!!!!
The cheesy smile...
At least he's not squinting his eyes!
I got a new pair of jeans for him for his pics...yes mom...he is still in his onesie!!!
Caleb is loving to brush his teeth by himself. This is him trying to put toothpaste on one of his little brushes!
Being silly in his room!
His modeling poses!
One more cute pic!
This was Saturday night when Ad and I went to check on him. We love his little booty sticking up in the air!
Caleb was a lot happier when we got back from the portrait studio...maybe we should have the photographer come to our house next time!!!!!

A little spin!
Once again we have had a busy getting back into our routines from our big trip last weekend. I just have to say how thankful I am that Caleb is such a GREAT napper! My mom says that he is going to be the only Kindergartener who will really have to stop and take his two naps a day! Anyway, this week he has his 18mo. wellness appt. and then we're going to go get his pics taken for a little update! I'll let ya know how that all turns out of course! In the meantime, these are just a few pics of Caleb in his Buc-cees gear...he still hasn't gotten used to the camera flash which is pretty funny! He tries to smile, but it comes out looking like a glare!
Here is an example of no flash...
FLASH!
He looks like a little Buc-cee beaver here right?!
Almost...we got one eye that looks pretty good!
Caleb is also starting to spin. I know that he is learning this from his friends at Janet's house, and it is HILARIOUS. The night before i took this video, he wouldn't stop and was getting so dizzy...he would stop and then just fall and laugh! This is just a video of him spinning and getting a little dizzy! He then lost interest and came to get me with the camera!! We LOVE our boy!
