We are finally getting out and enjoying Texas!! The weather has been very pleasant (still 80's, but not as much humidity) which makes staying outside for a long period of time bearable! Let me hit you with a little knowledge about Katy before you move on to the pics...Katy actually harvests rice (I know, right?) and because of this, they have an annual Rice Harvest Festival where they close down the old town and set up a ton of booths (crafts etc.) along with greasy food and a carnival! Since we haven't gotten to go to the Eastern Idaho State Fair (holla!) over the past few years, we thought that this was going to be as good as we were going to get! I probably would've spent a ton of money if I had a baby girl (all of the clothing booths were geared toward girls TOTALLY CUTE)...we bought a fun iron Texas star that had Ad's latest Alma Mater on it (Rice Owls) and something else (but it is a surprise for my momma's bday!) Soooo there isn't a lot of pics from this event as you will see, it was still fun though...people watching is so much fun!
Hitching a ride on the festival shuttle!
Adam was sitting behind us...Caleb is telling him Hi here!
Always a blankie boy...loves his "juice" too...you know it's not all juice right?!? Whose got two thumbs and is pretty sneaky...
I just like this picture...
Looks good right?!? I can practically taste the grease just by looking at this picture!!!
We also took Caleb to a cute little farm called Dewberry Farm to get some pumkins. I don't even know how to explain this place other than it is CRAZY! There is so much going on here it is hard to choose what to do! Plus, it was super busy...but we had a good time! Can I just say how IMPOSSIBLE it is to get my kiddo to look at the camera! I loved how all the other families had their kiddos dressed up in their fall attire and they were all so happily posing around the pumpkins...maybe putting Caleb in a Star Wars T-shirt wasn't the best idea...the force was too strong and pulling his attention elsewhere (i'm such a geek!)
We went here!!!
Rubber Duckie races...where's the duckie you ask? Being pumped with water down a PVC pipe cut in half! Caleb was trying to steal other rubber duckies that were being raced by other kiddos/adults...we got a few dirty looks!
Some smelly pigs...need i say more?
Our wagon ride to the pumpkin patch...just a few cute shots of our boy!
LOVE those droopy eyes!
A view of the pumpkin patch from the wagon...
Caleb...look at the camera!!
Caleb...PLEASE look at the camera?!?
Caleb...you look so cute holding that baby pumpkin...we'll buy it for you if you look at the camera!
Oh my goodness...a father/son pic...Caleb, look at the camera!
Adam, thanks for smiling for you and your son!
P.S. we bought the pumpkin...
i told you the force was strong with this one!! (Adam is so proud of me right now!)
Caleb leading us through the corn maze literally!
You know how we Colson's love those moon shots...with the corn it just seems like fall! Even though it really is supposed to be fall in Texas...it doesn't feel like it yet...more mid December! The moon is that white dot in the sky...just in case you were wondering where it is!
AWWW look Caleb...Mom knows how to look at the camera!
And we're still lost in the maze!

Just Give me Something to Blog About...
How about Thomas the Train??
The obsession has switched from Elmo to trains...which has slowly developed into a Thomas the Train obsession. We have gone from generic to Dinosaur Train to Thomas the Train. Really if he sees a train then it's over! This blog is dedicated to Caleb's love of trains. A lot of exciting things have happened over the past couple of weeks based on trains so if you love trains or love Caleb...READ ON!!
Lets start with Halloween...Caleb chose the Thomas the Train costume for his Halloween costume this year. He won't wear the costume, but he will wear the conductor's hat, which he has been wearing for a while now! He looks so cute! I have a feeling that the Thomas costume isn't going to get a lot of wear and tear this year!
We also picked up this play mat at IKEA for Caleb to play with his trains on...he makes a cute little conductor right?!?
Trying to get this kid to look at the camera is impossible lately!!
The Train Table...
A gal that I work with was moving and mentioned that she had a train table that Caleb could have! Of course I said yes! She brought it over last week and Caleb was SO excited! he kept jumping up and down and saying YES!! he hasn't stopped playing with it since! We have set up his IKEA trains on it and have gotten a few Thomas trains that fit onto the IKEA tracks!! Of course Caleb isn't spoiled enough right?!? We just keep giving him more!
How fun is this?? It works perfectly in his room!
I guess when family comes to visit now, they'll have to sleep on the table!!
A little Thomas the train!
A Day Out with Thomas!!
Last week we decided last minute to bring Caleb out to spend the day with Thomas! When we asked Caleb if he wanted to go, he of course said YES and talked about it all week. He even asked his babysitter if she wanted to go!
We left yesterday morning and drove out to the small towns of Bertram/Burnett which are located north of Austin. We LOVED driving through Austin and are planning on going back soon to have more fun! We stayed in a little motel in Bertram, ate some bad BBQ, and rode on Thomas the Train!! We actually had a lot of fun and really enjoyed driving through Texas!
Thomas as the sun is rising!
Our view from Thomas...
A view from inside the coach...as the conductor came by to punch our tickets, Caleb said, "Good morning, Mr. the Conductor!" he learned that one from Dinosaur Train! It was too CUTE!
I really don't have a comment for this guy...unicycle and juggling...he was pretty creepy!
A few attempts at a family picture...
we should've thrown our camera to the guy on the unicycle!
another attempt at a Caleb picture...with EMILY!!
Caleb with Gordon...
Caleb's favorite part, other than riding on the train was being able to play with the trains that were set up on tracks.
He played here for a while and as other kiddos were starting to come and wanting to play too we tried to get him off to go and see other things...
The result of trying to get Caleb away from the trains...COMPLETE MELTDOWN!! Like throw yourself on the floor meltdown! He couldn't settle down from this, and even had some police officers tell us where the bathrooms are! (why would I take him to the bathroom?) I think it was a combo of not having a nap yesterday to the early morning to all the excitement that just caught up with him at the moment!
Even saying goodbye to Thomas was a little hard!
Caleb was asleep within five minutes of us leaving!! He had a busy weekend, and had a lot of FUN!!!
Thanks THOMAS!
