38 Week Visit...13 days to go!!

Here are some pics of baby from my ultrasound today. (If you can't tell, this is his face!) He measured at 9 POUNDS!! I really can't believe that he may be that big!! Anyway, when I talked with the doctor she seemed to also think that he might be because she was talking to me about possibly having to do a C-Section. She said that there is a chance that if I have him naturally that his shoulders wouldn't fit and if they had to bend or move them to get him out, that one of his arms could be paralyzed. So, next week I go back again for another ultrasound and if he's any bigger, then we'll probably just have to plan for the C-Section. I honestly don't want one, but whatever is safest for the baby I'll do. Plus, I'm still only dialated to a 2, so he's being pretty stubborn!!! Already we're going to have a trouble maker!! The pictures aren't the best because they're not that cool 4D that they're doing now, but he still looks pretty cute, and squished to me!!! Poor munchkin...is running out of room!! We've started a countdown in my class...if he comes on March 11th, then we have 13 days from today, but I'm thinking he won't last that long. He might be heading out next weekend if we have to go with the C-Section! Anyway, we'll just have to see!! Keep us in your prayers that all will be well and that I'm not giving birth to a giant!!

Baby Shower!!

There were so many pictures for this shower I thought that I would make a slide show for it!! My 2nd Grade Team at school threw me a baby shower today and I had so much fun. All of the teams in the school either gave us a gift card or a gift that I registered for. Plus one of my mom and dad's good friend Ticia, (who we knew back in Washington and also put the bug in my principals ear that I needed a job in Houston) came and just spoiled baby with the cutest clothes (with matching shoes) diapers and toys for the car seat! Everyone was soooo generous and nice. Adam and I feel that we are truly blessed and completely spoiled. Adam is really excited to take the gift cards and buy baby some toys. He feels bad that the baby doesn't really have anything yet. Plus, this will help us get all of the little things that we still need for our son!! Again, we are just so thankful to our families and friends and coworkers for all of their support in helping us out!! We love you all and are really starting to get excited...14 days from today!!

Katy Texas Rodeo...YEE HAW!!

This past weekend we got to go to the rodeo with our good friends the Hills. It was so much fun to go to a real Texas Rodeo. The Houston Rodeo is coming this weekend, and we decided that we liked the Katy Rodeo better because it still had all of the events and was smaller...PLUS we got to eat some goooooood Texas BBQ!! My favorite events were the mutton bustin, bronco riding and the bull riding. There were actually a few cowboys that really got hurt from the bull riding and that was pretty scary, but it was fun to watch!! AND of course right when we were trying to get some good pics, out battery died on the camera, so here are the few pictures that we did get!

Here are the cowgirls that got the rodeo started. I loved their horses!!

Sausage Fingers, Cankles and 37 week Visit

Probably the only thing that I haven't liked about being pregnant is the fact that I'm swollen...especially my hands and feet!! I have this weird thing going on where one foot gets more swollen than the other...can you guess which one??

They don't get really huge, but enough that it's noticeable!! I miss my skinny feet and fingers!! I officially cannot get my wedding ring off (no I didn't take a picture of it because I think it's pretty!)

It's just funny to see how your body changes...speaking of which, I went in for my 37 week appointment today. The doctor said that I was dialated to 1 1/2-2cm WOOOO HOOOOO!!! I guess I forgot to mention that last week when I went in...I had to do an ultrasound and they measured our boy at 7 pounds!!! Happy Valentine's to US!!! Although that news was quickly rebuffed when the doctor mentioned that you can't really trust an ultrasound weight measure!! So, we're getting another one next week! I'm feeling great and baby is just moving and shaking!! I was talking to my primary kiddos on Sunday (4 & 5) year olds, and I told them that he was kicking...when they came to feel, he stopped...so he already is a shy guy!! He does that to my class too!! I also bet one of my second graders a quarter that he'll have hair...I know it's pathetic, but I could really use that quarter!! Anyway, we'll keep y'all posted!! Mom...my birthday is just 5 days away!!!!! AND Adam wanted me to add the pics of our kitty...he needs some blog lovin too...he's sooo cute!!!

Four More Weeks!!!!

So tomorrow marks my 36 weeks of being pregnant which also means that I have only 4 more weeks to go!! I don't know whether to be exicted or nervous!! I am excited to see our little baby boy, so maybe it's the whole labor thing that I'm more nervous about!! I do have a doctors appointment this week, so hopefully she'll give me some good info that'll tell me if he'll be early or right on time!! My kiddos at school just sit and rub my belly all of the time! They are so cute and have to give him hugs on their way out the door. One of my moms asked her little boy what he would do if I went into labor in class and he told her that "All we need is a lot of towels and hot water!" I don't know where they come up with that stuff, but I guess I would be well taken care of!! I'm so lucky to have such great kiddos!!

Neko our Cat

For those of you who don't know, we have a special cat named Neko...which means cat. Anyway, he has been our pride and joy for the past couple of years. Plus, this is the Colson family blog and it wouldn't be complete if we didn't include him...but he is a little "special". For one thing, we think that he is a little chemically imbalanced and that our move to Houston didn't balance out any of the chemicals! He has two litter boxes with two different litters and the funny part is, he uses both!! He also has his own room and knows when it's time to go to bed...that's where he has to stay at night because he's not allowed in the bedrooms. One of his favorite pastimes is just looking out the window...so here are a few pics of our kitty in his favorite spot! He also never poses for the camera and this time I got some good pics out of him!! If he's looking a little overweight, remember the camera adds a few pounds!!!

Addy and Neko's morning ritual...he waits for Adam every morning to give him loves!

MARDI GRAS!!

Of course it is the Mardi Gras season down here in the south, and one of my kiddos at school is from New Orleans. His family moved to Houston when his house was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. On Tuesday (Fat Tuesday) he brought in something called a King Cake. They come in all different flavors and ours was like a giant cinnamon roll. It was so good y'all. Anyway, as tradition goes, there is a little baby baked inside of the King Cake and if you get it in your slice then you are supposed to host the King Cake Mardi Gras Party for the next year!! My kiddo had gotten it last year so hosted the party in our class this year!! It was so much fun...I told the kiddos that we would have to have a reunion next year so that the gal that got the baby in her slice could host a party for us...they thought that was pretty neat! Then they asked if I was serious, and of course, I WAS!! But if not, I think it would be a good tradition to start in my own family!! And maybe we might even get to experience going to the real Mardi Gras one of these years!! I'll try and score y'all some beads!!!! HA HAAAAAAAAA!

King Cake...YUMMERS!!

Baby's Cute Bedding

So because I have a mother who can sew, and I most definetely cannot...I asked her if she would make me some baby bedding!! Over Christmas, we went and looked for fabric and now we have a finished product. Actually we made a bet that if my mom finished the bedding first before we put the crib together then we would have to take her to Pappadeux's a really nice seafood restraunt here in Houston. Of course she thought she was going to win and we finished first!! We really don't get anything, but I figure having a warm bed to sleep in for baby is enough!! So anyway, here is the finished product....SOOOOOO CUTE!! I just want to thank Momma D for making the bedding for us, and Momma C for making sure that baby actually had a bed to sleep in!! WE LOVE OUR MOMS!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy!

The pacifiers even match too!!!

This is Baby's blessing outfit...I wanted something really simple, but sweet!!

Some more cute outfits...We'd like to give a shout out to Nikki who bought us the cute green polka dotted outfit! If you look closely, it has a pocket with a little froggy in it and on the back there is a little tail!! Also it is very soft, just like we like it!!! Thanks Nikki
