Our Little Man

I feel like our weeks just keep getting busier and busier and this year has gone by so FAST! We had some precious moments with our little man this week...he is growing so fast and doing so many more things each day it's hard to believe! He has really started to mimic every thing we do and say! He is acing words like mommy, daddy, baby, banana, cheese (for pictures), bye bye and babbles on and on and on! Janet (his babysitter) tells me that he tries to say the names of some of the kiddos "ophia" for Sophia and "itchie" for Richie! Yes, he wears shoes when he leaves the house now, and as a matter of fact, started walking himself big boy style down the stairs yesterday when we told him it was time to go! It completely FREAKED me out when I walked over and there he was just walking down all by his lonesome! He has truly become more our little man than our little boy...people don't believe us when we tell them that he's only 19 months!! We're excited to celebrate Halloween and Adam's birthday next weekend and I know I will have some GREAT pics for you! For now, enjoy our little man!

need I say more?!?

The pumpkin patch...

This was the ONLY picture that we have of Caleb looking at the camera while we were getting pumpkins! He was having so much fun we actually ended up with a little fit when we had to leave!

Caleb chose this pumpkin for himself...he has been trying to eat it and its stem since he chose it!

And finally...I went and got Caleb some new church clothes (I figured that we could put him into some pants finally instead of him always wearing shorts!) I just had to throw a few pics in of our little boy looking more like a little man! Since he has the attention span of like 1/2 a second, we had to keep saying cheese to get him to stop and take a picture...this is him saying cheese at the same time!

TOTAL STUD!
This is the Abercrombie and Fitch pose...he could be a model!!!

A Little Home Improvement...

All the way back in March or April I was strolling through Target and found the CUTEST bedroom bedspread, sheets, accessories etc. for Caleb's room. It was a safari theme, which I never thought I would really like a safari theme for Caleb, but this one was too cute! Ad's parents came down the next month and we happened to stop at Target and I showed them how cute the set was and they helped us out with it so Caleb could have a new room. Anyway, I wanted to paint and do some fun things with the set and didn't quite know what to do, so I had my mom come down and help me out. I decided that I wanted his walls painted three different colors so that's exactly what we did! To add to the set, I also asked my mom to make a valance for his window and bedskirts. It all came together so AWESOME! This is the end result of everyone's help! I also wanted to redo his bathroom and found the monkey shower curtain at Target too. We had some paint left over and decided to paint his bathroom because it matched the colors! Now I know we live in an apartment, but we're not planning on moving anytime soon and we wanted our son to have his own room instead of a girly one!! He couldn't keep his hands off of the orange wall when it was first painted and this helped so we could move his toys in his room and he would have his own play space. We did some fun things with our living room as well, but I'll save that for another post. We are grateful to our parents for helping us out!!!! I know Caleb LOVES his new room!

This pic was from about a week ago...Caleb had pulled the wooden spoon from the drawer and was stirring everything in sight. This is him stirring the cat food...i washed the spoon when he was done!

Just a quick note...the room is so much cuter in person! The pictures don't do it justice!

A view looking in...

The new bedspread with window treatments!

The orange wall...the playmat is supposed to be on the floor, but I thought that it would look cute on the wall!

The blue wall with crib and decals...Caleb has already scratched off the green elephant! Now when I put him to bed, I have to pull his crib out a little bit otherwise, we'll hear the little sound of fingernails on the wall!

The green wall...we found the real animal pictures and frames from IKEA (I LOVE IKEA, but that's a whole other story)...

The blue and green wall together...again, the orange hanging net in the corner (IKEA) has Caleb's collection of obscure stuffed animals that he hasn't really played with yet!

Here is Caleb's new bathroom...my little monkey included!

Another blue wall with his decorative monkey towels

His bathroom isn't that big so we didn't want to get a lot of extra things to make it look smaller...this is a view from corner...you can see the green wall through the mirror!

Caleb enjoying his new room...with his favorite outfit on! You might notice that his hair is a little shorter than the very top picture! He again had his third haircut in like 5 months! It grows FAST!!!

Our Fun Boy...

Adam is going to be heading off to Idaho on Tuesday so I thought I'd get a post on before he goes! He will probably be taking our camera so if you don't see a new post in a while, that is why! We had another busy week! On Friday we had our school carnival which was a lot of fun! A lot of my students from my past second grade classes came to see me which makes me feel old because they are growing up SOOO fast! They were excited to see Caleb who got to come for a few minutes! Everyone at school loves to see our babies and they flipped when they saw how big he has gotten! They kept asking me How old is he? I was like ummmm....19 months! He is big for his age! Anyway, to the pictures!
We were having one of those quiet moments yesterday where Caleb wasn't making any noise so i went to check on him. I found him in his room sitting on his chair "reading" his Elmo book! I went to get the camera to take pictures and this is the result. The squinty face! He loves to get up into his rocking chair and show us how he can ROCK! I've probably mentioned this before so forgive me for repeating myself!!

Continuing to LOVE Elmo...and his squinty face!

Please don't pay attention to him and his outfit!! It's true...i kept him with one sock on and one sock off for most of the day! We got a hold of the brush the night before and he loved getting his hair brushed. He just sat there and let me brush and brush. The result is an even bigger mop of hair!

UGH! Put the camera away mom...please!

This again was from another quiet moment yesterday...we found him back on his bed jumping!

Later yesterday night:
I was giving Caleb his bath and he had some soap on his upper lip like a mustache...i wanted to see if I could get a pic and we ended up practicing how to say cheese for the camera. These pics turned out fun!

CHEESE!

CHEESE!

CHEESE!!

Just to give you an idea of how long Caleb's hair is, if it was wet like this all of the time, it would be a mullet!! He'll get it cut again soon!
