30 and Thriving!!!

No...this isn't me turning 30...I have snuck in a few Caleb bits as well!!! ENJOY!!

Here is Caleb making good use of my Christmas present! Ad got me a Nook Color for Christmas ( I LOVE IT!) and you can download childrens' books to it. They actually read it to the kiddos! Well Caleb has figured out how the Nook or "Mom's Dook" as he likes to call it, works. He can turn it on, finds the story that he wants to hear and listens (or I will read to him!) This is the only way I can get him to settle down to listen to a story!

He's got a few favorites that we've heard a million times!

Turning the pages! What a smartie!!

Well...it's finally happened...I'M 30 YEARS OLD!!! I can't believe that I made it to this milestone of a birthday! As I reminisce on the past thirty years, it has been filled with the BEST of times and the BEST of people! I am so grateful for all that I have accomplished...especially being a wife and mother...I never knew that my heart could be so full of love for my husband and my son! They have been such a blessing and I thank Heavenly Father everyday that I have the opportunity of having an eternal family! I am definitely looking forward to the years to come and all of the GREAT times!!!
I would continue on with my wellness stats (like I do with Caleb) but don't really want to embarrass myself! Lets just say, i'm thankful for my health and for my treadmill!!

Our traditional birthday treat...CUPCAKES!!!! Gotta love Ohh La La!! We indulged on the Margaritaville (the green) one after a lovely dinner at Roccos...the BEST Italian restaurant!

As tradition, I took a Mardi Gras King Cake to share with my kiddos at school! It's like a GIANT cinnamon roll...quite delicious...

WATCH OUT! so that baby wasn't edible?

My first homemade birthday gift from my son!!

a one of a kind bracelet from Adam...he got it from a little unique jewelry shop downtown that I have always wanted to drop in to! What a thoughtful hubby I have!!
Isn't it SUPER fun?!?

Caleb usually has a little Thomas time after he gets up from his nap. This is what we see when Thomas is on! I just love how he sits and watches!

We call this...the Thomas Trance!

Stay tuned...Caleb turns 3 a week from tomorrow...I know, right?!?

FINALLY!!

I know...I know...it's been three weeks (wasn't that the common saying at Ricks?) Fellow alumni...back me up! Anyway, yes, it has been a while since I last posted. We have been doing some fun and exciting things (like forgetting to take the camera to Galveston) which WAS a fun day trip...my parents can attest to that one, but of course, no camera! We will have to remember that the next time we take a trip down so that Caleb can see the ocean for the second time! We are also starting training (mostly Caleb and myself...I do most of the running, Caleb just enjoys the ride or watches Thomas the Train!) for the SLC 1/2 marathon in April which is fun and exciting! (I LOVE this time of year!)
Since we don't have extremely horrible winter weather here in Houston, we decided that it would be nice to take Caleb to the zoo again...I know, right?? The ZOO in January...in Houston, it can be done! We did have some silly moments as we went on our little adventure...the animals were all asleep this morning but it didn't stop Caleb from covering his ears as we walked up to the Lion's Den...this is all we found!

So the zoo opened new African exhibit that included a HUGE Chimpanzee habitat...we found a clear spot by one of the windows and were looking at a few of the monkeys when this guy strolled around the corner. He completely FREAKED Caleb out and he yelled a little bit and took some steps back!

As you can see that the monkey just sat there and watched us for a while!

Some Rhinoceros were also added to the new exhibit!

The Merry Go Round...need I say more!

Caleb had so much fun he kind of threw a small fit as we were leaving...I did too! It IS fun!

This little guy was just holding onto the side of the cage...it's sad and cute all mixed together!

RED PANDA! This guy is the BEST part of the zoo!

Here are just a few updated pics of our boy!

He's getting ready to go to a business meeting! He has some decisions to make on how to make the trains on Sodor "really useful!"
