Caleb's Merry First Christmas!

Because we are going to be traveling up north for the holidays and can't take a lot of presents with us, Santa Claus came early to the Colson household, and our boy woke up to presents from Santa under the tree. Because he doesn't understand what in the heck is going on, we waited until tonight to have him really dig in and see what Santa brought. He got a Tickle Me Cookie Monster, Two Elmo Soft Cloth Books and a Plush Color Ring Stacker (that one is from Santa's Helpers GMA and GPA D!) He of course has gotten clothes, but we didn't feel the need to take pictures of those! He also got a cute stuffed Dalmatian Puppy from his Aunt Trina, who works with Ad in the Chem Lab!
What another great First for Caleb!

Presents under the tree!

I've been a good boy...look what Santa brought me!

I love my Cookie Monster and he's just my size! I didn't even get scared when he started making those silly noises!

Ummmm...it's getting close to bed time...this is a classic Caleb face!

Reading Mom and Dad a bedtime story...

Realizing that he can't read upsidedown!

Neko's old habit where ever the tree may be!

I took this picture last week...Caleb is trying to watch his soaps and his dad was getting in the way...

It has also been very chilly down here lately and actually snowed little pellets last week for like 15 minutes. A majority of the kids down here have NEVER seen snow and just went CRAZY when they saw what was going on outside. It was so funny to watch them get so excited! Of course the cold weather doesn't last long because tomorrow is supposed to get up to 80 degrees again. That's just the price you pay for living in the south. I know I'll be looking forward to the milder weather, when we get up to the freezing cold weather of the north...if I don't post before then, I hope that y'all have a merry Christmas!!!!!

What a WEEK!! 9 Months Today!

WOW! We've had just the busiest week starting off with me having to Caleb to the doctor for the first time for something other than his regular check ups. He had been really congested during the Thanksgiving Holiday, but didn't really act like anything was bothering him. Finally on Sunday night, I started to really see the effects and took him in on Monday. It turned out the he had a double ear infection and RSV, which is a respiratory virus kind of like Asthma. Anyway, we have to give Caleb breathing treatments at home every 4 to 6 hours, which is what you're seeing above. Caleb absolutely hates it, so I have to wrap him in a blanket like a burrito! He's finally learning to settle down and take them and has been feeling a lot better! I'm glad that we made it this far without Caleb being REALLY sick! I'm hoping that he'll stay healthy as the weather gets a little cooler! I have to take him in for his 9 month check up tomorrow and I'm excited to see how much he has grown.

We also went and got his pictures taken with Santa. He was truly puzzled to who that man was in the red suit and the look that he gave Santa was priceless!! We also went and had our family pictures taken last weekend and didn't really get a ton of shots because we had a very impatient munchkin. It probably wasn't the best idea to go and take him when he wasn't feeling well, but he really wasn't acting sick!! We'll get some more when we head north for Christmas...Bailey don't forget your camera!!!!! Anyway, we hope that y'all had a great week! Here are some more happier pics from ours!

My muchkin on a roll...he's starting to move up to his knees!! We're hoping for some movement to go along with that soon!

A little smirk...

Our Christmas Tree...don't worry, we put it on our dining room table so Caleb wouldn't be tempted to grab. Neko the cat still lays underneath it!!

Bath time smiles with Daddy!

Exercising in the ExerSaucer! Caleb can really get bouncing and moving in this thing, I'm waiting for him to tip it over!

I've just noticed that Caleb isn't wearing pants in any of these pictures! I do dress him in pants...sometimes they just don't get put back on! His knee socks make up for them!

The Colson's First Thanksgiving and Rice Football

In the year 2008 in the month of November, the Colson's embarked on a new adventure...their first Thanksgiving Feast! and BOY we are proud of ourselves! I finally got to make my own turkey...all 18 pounds and Adam and I made our favorite Thanksgiving grub to help start our own family tradition when we don't have the opportunity to go to our families houses! It has felt like a holiday today...we got up, watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and cooked all morning! Adam took care of the sweet potatoes and homemade cranberries, while I made the rest. We both took care of getting the turkey ready and then Ad carved it up for us! Caleb of course, had his Thanksgiving nap while we ate our feast, but he has had fun playing and having mom and dad home! We are going to start putting up Christmas tomorrow and I'm so excited! I love this time of year and we just have so much to be thankful for! We know that we wouldn't be where we are at today and have all that we do without the help of our Heavenly Father and know that we are truly blessed and guided by Him! We are thankful for our little family and our families that are up north! We miss you all and are excited to see y'all soon! Enjoy!

Ummmm yeah...we took a picture of our food, we are THAT proud!

I got this pic while Caleb was munching on his little Gerber Puffs! It looks like his real teeth right?!?

We also took Caleb to his first college football game last Saturday (Rice vs. Marshall)! It was a lot of fun, and Caleb got to go out on the field before the game started to cheer on the players. We went with our good buddies Mike and Julie Hill and stayed through the 3rd quarter (believe it or not, it was starting to get a little chilly and Munchkin was TIRED!) I wanted Sammy the Owl to come over to where we were sitting to take a pic with Caleb but he stayed on the other side of the field...bummer! Anyway, it was a great game, and Caleb really enjoyed watching the band make all of that noise!

Caleb on the field with Daddy and Mike waiting for the football players!

Hi mom...where are you?

Rice football team charging the sidelines!

Our little linebacker showing some serious binkie biting!

GRRRRR....FOOTBALL!!

Dreaming of the day when he can lead the band!

Our seats were right on the fifty yard line...AWESOME!

Go Owls! It's really a huge stadium!

Highlights from our week!

We have had another busy week as usual and of course it has come with some fun picture moments of Caleb! For those of you who don't know and are wondering what is above Caleb's eye, he was born with a cyst. We are going to get it removed after he turns one and I'm hoping that it is not affecting his vision. According to his Opthamologist, cysts grow slower than glaciers and he is just growing into his face which makes it more noticeable. Anyway, FYI!! That's why he looks like he has a bump on his eye! He has been a little more fussy this weekend with a little congestion and has had to spend a few nights with mom and dad. He actually sleeps better when he is with us when he's not feeling too hot, but I don't mind! He sounded better tonight which was good...I'm hoping for a fuss free night! Anyway, I don't know if I'll be posting before Thanksgiving, so I hope that y'all have a Happy one!

Caleb CAN hold a bottle...he just chooses not to!

Love that smile!

More adventures under the couch!

Soon in need of a haircut! It's getting a little shaggy!

Starting to really move...he's made it the Dining Room.

Getting ready for church...I love my boy in a tie!

He'd rather eat it!

Caleb's Low Chair and "The Boss"

We're trying a new diet for Caleb...Wicker!

Modeling the Low Chair with his serious look...Blue Steel!

His little smirk...we get this all of the time!

I'm going to get you momma!

Okay, you can put the camera down!

When my mom and dad were here they took out Caleb's high chair for us. Of course, it hasn't quite made it to the chair yet, so we call it his low chair! My mom is probably cringing right now because we haven't set it up yet, but as always, the Colson's do things on their own slow time!!! Anyway, later this afternoon we caught Caleb playing with our records and he is always taking the Bruce Springstein one out to play with...maybe he likes his songs or maybe it's the fact that he has a new toy to play with! It's all entertainment to us!! Enjoy!

BORN...in the USA!!

We'll post the video when he starts learning the moves!!!

Need I Say More??

Love the shirt!!

Caleb does too!

Loving on the red couch!

This morning when I was getting Caleb ready to go, we had some extra time. I made myself some breakfast while Caleb played and rolled around. I finished and went to wash my bowl and when I turned around I didn't see Caleb anywhere! I knew where he might've gone (the room isn't that big) and went and peeked under the couch...there he was!! I thought it was so funny! I didn't think he could even fit under there...he did and actually had a lot more room to roll over some more! He is just changing so fast every day and I'm loving his little personality! What a good boy!

Now you see him...

Now you don't!

More room to roll!
