Almost a year older!

Believe it or not we haven't taken a lot of pictures this week, so I decided that I would show you one of our little routines. Every night after Caleb eats his dinner, I run him a bath and get him ready to get in. Instead of carrying him in, and because I know that he'll follow me, I just let him come in on his own. It's so funny to see that little face peek around that corner, AND I think he has the cutest naked bum! So, here is our munchkin getting ready for his bath!

Caleb is also finally learning not to blink or close his eyes when I use the flash with the camera...so here are a few more pics of my nakey boy in the tub!

If you look at his knees you can tell he uses them a lot because they are RED! He certainly can move! PLUS we've had like 80 degree weather, so he wears shorts all of the time...sorry friends up north!!!!

I have figured out that Caleb is NOT a morning person...must take after his mom! I wanted to get a picture of him in his Wyoming Tee before it became a little too tight! There must be a Paddington rerun on or something...look at that face!

Or maybe high fashion modeling is in his future?? He looks FIERCE!

Here is me at the end of a CRAZY day coming home to a Happy Birthday! Adam spoiled me with a gourmet birthday cake, cooked dinner and took care of the baby stuff...feeding, bathing etc. What a guy! He even sent me flowers at work and got me the killer boots that I wanted! I LOVE THIS MAN!!! I'm sorry I look so haggard, we seriously had a hard day!

Is this Wrong?

Caleb has found the TV and of course decided that he likes to watch. I think it's more of the bright colors and flashes, but there are some shows that he will actually stop and watch. American Idol is one that he likes to watch and will crawl back and forth to the TV so stand or sit in front of it! He has also learned how to turn it on and off! We didn't teach him that one...anyway, if Caleb ever ends up wearing glasses, this is probably the reason why!

This is his sunday morning cartoons...Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears!

That really doesn't look comfortable!

Tonight after dinner, Caleb was standing next to the couch and just couldn't get enough of his daddy! Every time Adam would even come close, Caleb would just crack up laughing! Of course we had to capture this and post it as soon as we could...so here is a minute and a half of our boy laughing!!! I love it!!

Crawling Caleb!

Caleb is continually surprising me with all that he can do. I mentioned a few weeks ago that he would only army crawl, but has decided that he wants to crawl now! He's climbing ALL over the place and starting to pull himself up! The only thing we're having trouble with is eating. He's pretty stubborn when it comes to people food! We're trying, and hopefully he'll start to love it soon! Enjoy our little man!

Adventures on Valentine's!

Happy Valentine's Day from Doctor Love...I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Caleb!

We have had quite the eventful Valentine's Day spending it together as a family! We decided that we needed to get to know our area a little better and drove down to Brazos Bend State Park. It is only 45 minutes south of where we live and is out in the country. It has a lot of little trails to walk or ride bikes on, and some campgrounds that look like fun. It also has a lot of alligators, venomous snakes, etc. We had a lot of fun driving around and getting out to explore as much as we could...it decided to rain while we were there and it wasn't just an easy sprinkle! We stopped at one lake and within 5 minutes of walking out on the pier, saw 4 alligators just chillin in the marsh. It's just so funny to see the changes in wildlife compared to up north...instead of bears being in the campgrounds, they have signs for snakes and alligators down here! Adam was very brave though and when we went to the visitor center, he actually touched a snake that one of the park volunteers was holding! WOW! After we left the park, we drove downtown to have dinner at one of our local hot spots, the Spaghetti Warehouse! It's really delicious, and quite the adventure getting in. The parking lot is pretty horrible and located near a transient hot spot! You pretty much run into the restaurant before you get approached! I know that last comment sounds pretty insensitive, but really...in a big city like Houston, you don't want to take any chances! Anyhoo, here is our day in a small nutshell! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Caleb and myself enjoying the views from the pier!

Caleb showing how excited he is to get out and see some wildlife...Jack Hanna better watch out!

okay, to the left of the white bird, you can see an alligator. It really looks more like a pile of mud in this picture, but believe me...it's an alligator!
(Click on the pictures and you will be able to see the gators better!!)

There are 2 alligators in this picture. I'm sorry that the zoom on our camera didn't really zoom in on what we wanted you to see here...if you can't see the gators, then just enjoy the scenery!

Who would want to annoy an alligator?

Again, one more alligator...this one was right close to the trail and we actually heard it while walking onto the pier. I about peed my pants, but kept my composure...I had to look brave in front of Caleb!

Daddy and little man taking a quick pic before getting soaked by the rain. Notice the moss hanging off of the trees! so nice!

The little boy is becoming a little man!

Okay...I've got a lot of pictures on here, but Caleb has really hit some milestones this week that I just HAVE to brag about! First off, 30 days from tomorrow, my munchkin will be turning one! (FYI 18 days from tomorrow, it will be my birthday!) I don't want Caleb getting ALL of the attention! He has just recently decided that yes, he will crawl now. I don't have a video of this yet as he is perfecting his moves, but will put one up as soon as I can get him moving around. This first set of pics is just from an afternoon of us hanging out this week. I was feeding him his little puffs and he ended up with one stuck to his chin. I don't know how he did it, but he was just playing, looked at me and there it was! Of course it HAD to be documented! Plus, I love the faces that he gives me!

Why are you looking at me like that...is there something on my face?!?

SKANK EYE!

I think he looks more like me here...I seem to squint my eyes when I smile!

This is just of my boy on the move again! He's just too cute!

This was this morning when I went in to get him out of bed. Do I see a guilty look on his face? Nope...it's too early and the flash is on!

Don't worry, the mattress is going to be moved tomorrow!

Don't get mad at me Mom...I'm giving the cute smile!

I am working on the sippy cup thing. Caleb hasn't quite got it yet, but we're working on it!

This is just proof that we are trying! I think he ended up with most of his juice on him with this cup!

This is just an picture of Adam before he trimmed his beard. He had let it get so bushy, he was starting to look like Wolverine...this is his dream so we took a picture for posterity!

Our Little Shadow!

This is a little video to show how much MORE Caleb is moving around. He has altogether given up on getting up on his knees and when he wants to move, just drops down to his stomach and army crawls. He also has to make a grunting noise as he moves which you will hear. He has found his way out of our family room and actually follows me around the apartment. He also is starting to pull himself up to his knees. I caught him this afternoon in his crib on his knees hanging off of the side...Ad's going to be fixing this problem soon! We have to laugh at how fast he is growing up...we can't believe that he's going to be 1 in a month!! We hope you enjoy our little mover and shaker!
