Happy Mother's Day!!

I just thought these photos were a little ironic!

Do I make you happy Caleb?? I'm not sure here!!!

For Mother's Day I thought that I would post a little bit more about what I have been doing lately...
As y'all know, I am a 2nd grade teacher and because I feel like I am busy being wife, mom, teacher, housekeeper, etc., I don't get very many opportunities to be crafty! This year I decided that my students were going to make something for their moms that would take a little more time, but did NOT use construction paper (not that there's anything wrong with construction paper gifts, i'm all for them) but this year we just needed something different! SO, we made never ending bouquets that mom can use all year. I have made these the past couple of years, but feel I have perfected the gift this year! They turned out SO cute and the kiddos were really excited to take them home...I had to share how cute they looked, and so I can remember this for next year!

I came up with this poem last year to put with the kiddos' bouquets...I love reading it to them because they always smirk at the throwing a fit part. I always remind them that they need to choose something that they would be willing to always do for mom without throwing fits!!

Here is a sample of one bouquet. The kiddos got to come up and design what they wanted their flowers to look like. They also painted their pots...I just did a lot of hot gluing!

My table full of bouquets...

A few more cute examples...the green flags on the stems are coupons that the kiddos chose that they were willing to always do for their mom...all mom has to do is choose!!!!!

The kiddos did a GREAT job don't ya think?!?

Some of you also know that I am a fan of running for exercise. I have always liked to run and can't seem to get tired of it! I completed my first 1/2 marathon this past summer and my dad asked me if I would like to run the SLC 1/2 with him and my brother! Of course I said yes...PLUS I got to fly to Salt Lake to spend some time with my family which I don't get to do that often! Anyway, here are just a few pics from the race. The race started at 7 in the morning and we didn't get to the starting line until 7:45, which made me the last person running! They were actually cleaning up water stands as I was running by! Anyway, I finally caught up with the pack and made a personal best time 2 hours 28 min, which was ten minutes faster than my last race! My recovery was GREAT too, I was back on the treadmill on Tuesday! No, you won't see me out training for a full marathon anytime soon, but I'll keep doing 1/2's!!

Bailey catching me on the road...I posed for every camera!!! My mom, Bailey, and my nephews Kooper and Maddox, cheered me on!! I LOVED IT!!!

Kooper running to the finish line with me...Koop scored 2 medals this race!

I just had to sneak this pic in...notice, Koop in the pic above is wearing the EXACT same outfit...If we had a pic of GPA, they would all be twinners! Gotta love dry weave slicky shorts and shirts!

I just thought this was a cool action shot...I need a Nike logo by my head or something!!!

Finish line smiles...Mike flew through the race...he had a good 1/2 hour breather before my dad and I showed up...he's the one that should be running marathons!!

Maybe it's the chicken legs!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Y'ALL!!!!!
